Therapist Spotlight Farah Zaobi

What do you specialize in?

Although I find myself working with a wide and diverse population, the majority of my clients tend to struggle with Anxiety and Depression.

What do you think is important about your role as a therapist?

My role is to provide clients with unconditional support, presence, and empathy through their individual self-growth process. I believe that every individual is complete but never completed. Self-growth is a continuous journey.

How do you help people, in your opinion?

I believe in empowering clients to feel autonomous and self-determined. Nonetheless, I strongly believe that every client will have a unique and individual experience and treatment to meet their needs.

What is something you wish people knew about your specialty, or about therapy in general?

I wish that individuals could look past the stigma associated with mental health and recognize the necessity of nurturing your mind, soul, and body as its own cohesive unit.

Name an influential person or experience in your life.

The beauty of individuality is the freedom of choice shaped by one’s curiosities and opinions. A major influence on my ultimate career choice stemmed from both traveling and living outside the United States for several years. Residing in Dubai, UAE, was a crucial factor in my decision-making process. Living in a place that introduced me to cultural and ethnic diversity also taught me the significance of the similarities and differences of the human mind. I naturally began to compare and contrast the different mentalities I came across throughout my travels. This journey aided my personal and professional growth in an incredible way.
