About Emily Lemke, LMSW

Southfield

I am a client-centered therapist who works from a strength-based approach, while using the client-therapist relationship as an important tool in your journey. I value authenticity and vulnerability, in myself and others, and strive to provide this experience from the beginning of our time together. I believe in intuition and the importance of having a sense of humor.

My experience and scope of practice is broad, while I worked in community mental health for the past seven years with high-risk populations in both, Denver and Chicago. I have in-depth training and experience with treating substance use disorders and related behaviors as well as trauma, anxiety and mood and psychotic disorders. I am skilled in working with individuals across the lifespan, and am particularly passionate about adolescents and young adults. My education and early experiences were based in school-social work, therefore I am well versed in navigation and collaboration within education systems, and providing parental support.

I can help support and guide clients in their journeys through life transitions, barriers and stressful experiences, as well as provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to process core believe systems, values, and experiences that have brought you to where you are today. I pride myself in my multi cultural lens of treatment, understanding of cultural impact on well-being, and have experience with immigrant populations. I am fluent in Spanish and I am happy to use this skill in therapy sessions, as desired.
