Making the decision to begin therapy is often not an easy one. Please rest assured that I am not here to make judgments or tell you what to do. My job is to believe in you and your abilities, and support you in determining what is right for you to cope, heal, and gain a sense of empowerment. I view the therapist/client relationship as a team, best described as “we are in this together”.
My formal education was in Humanistic Psychology, and during the 15 + years since then I have continued to learn about how to effectively provide understanding and support toward positive changes. Some of the issues I have enjoyed being able to offer help with include stress management, mental illness, anger, trauma, self-esteem, substance abuse, grief, relationship struggles, adjustment difficulties, and working with parents as a team to determine behavior support plans for children with special needs.
