About Lyndi Johnston MA, LPC

Dearborn

I believe that with support and the right therapeutic relationship you can make the changes you want in your life. I am currently in the Sexual Health Certificate Program at the University of Michigan. With my training, I am competent to treat a number of sexual issues including lower desire or unequal interest between partners, arousal issues, performance concerns, and sexual pain disorders. My approach honors and addresses situations in the past, but also gives you ideas about how to feel better in the here and now.
I have years of experience working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence. I have a special interest in working with LGBTQ communities and folks doing activist work. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral, Feminist, and Narrative approaches. I’d love to meet with you and talk about how we might work together.

I am comfortable working with folks experiencing the following situations:
– Trauma recovery
– Folks needing support with gender transition, trans or non-binary folks
– Coming out issues
– Sexuality issues
– Kink/poly relationships
– Anxiety
– Depression
– Parenting
– Relationship issues
– Activists, Social Workers, or any first responders, who need support regarding secondary trauma.
– Family members of people with chronic mental illness, who need emotional support
