Melissa is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families. While earning her doctorate in clinical psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology Melissa trained exclusively with the treatment of children and adolescents at the inpatient, outpatient and residential levels. Additionally, she spent two years working in an alternative school setting for children with emotional issues that impacted their learning.
Melissa has received additional training in Acceptance and Commitment therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Additionally, her dissertation topic was the development of a course for professionals in the sensitive treatment of transgender individuals.
Her areas of specialty include transgender/gender dysphoria in children and adolescents, depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, and parenting issues.
