“Hope is the pillar that holds up the world.” --Pliny, the Elder.
I believe hope is the foundation of all positive direction. Though we may be in the midst of a crisis or realize that we’ve become increasingly depressed, it’s hope, a deep down belief that things can change for the better, that drives us to seek therapy. I find nothing more satisfying than helping people find and use that kernel of hope to bring about whatever changes they decide will take them where they want to go.
I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work, a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in writing. I taught writing at the university level for many years, with a focus personal growth and development. I enjoy working with teens and adults using Solution-Focused Therapy, ACT and CBT. I also have extensive training in the treatment of chronic pain, including a certification in Pain Reprocessing Therapy.
