Dr Mikell approaches therapy with the belief that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in therapeutic success. She understands that individuals often come to therapy with concerns, worries, or apprehension about this process. Dr Mikell strives to establish a supportive and accepting relationship that allows individuals to feel comfortable addressing their struggles.
She believes that within a supportive therapeutic environment, individuals can better understand their past experiences and how formative, early relationships have shaped their views of themselves, the other world, and others. Through a deeper awareness into relationship patterns and belief systems, Dr Mikell assists clients in developing greater freedom and joy in their lives.
