There are many challenges that we all have faced previously and continue to struggle with now.  Counseling is all about how you are feeling, problems that you are having, and where you go with your present and future. It’s really a journey we take together to help you feel better about yourself; empower you to make different use of your capabilities and competencies at this time of your life.  I am a clinical psychologist, with training and skills in working with young adults, women, and men; and mature, older individuals who experience anxiety, mood disorders, adjustment problems, serious emotional disorders, relationship challenges; and decreased overall quality of life.  I also have specialties in behavioral health issues such as psychological behavioral treatment of morbid obesity, chronic health diseases (cancer; cardiac disease; ADD; kidney disease; orthopedic problems; chronic pain; and disability adjustments) that also contribute to taking away from your overall quality of life and capabilities.

You have the potential for change; which we build upon through strengths and resources that are already present within you. Together we develop a personalized treatment plan that incorporates talking, planning, and implementing a psychological growth process that is emotional, cognitive, and behavioral. This is about my understanding your ‘story’ of who you are, and how you have come to this time and place in your life.  We work together with your positives, address conflicts and struggles together  -  with you learning how to better understand, learn and cope with your past issue. This is about you feeling more empowered to problem solve with what is going on now in the present; and help you feel more confident, capable, and competent in meeting your future goals, needs and wants.

We move forward together with sensitivity, strategies, tactics, and alternate ways of coping with your issues.  At times, a psychodynamic approach, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, or interpersonal skills work is utilized, according to our partnership of personal change.

I look forward to meeting you, listening to you, coming to understand you; and together working toward what you aspire for yourself.  I am available to meet with you at a convenient time at GLPG.  Now is the best time to help you with positive directions at this time in your life and the ‘chapters’ that you are yet to write and experience ahead. Our shared goal is your enhanced well-being and improvements in your overall quality of life.
