Dr. Emily Stanley is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LP). She completed her degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Delaware and her undergraduate degree at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. Additionally, Dr. Stanley completed her Postdoctoral Residency at Michigan Medicine and the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System in Ann Arbor, MI.
She has experience working with people with a variety of different backgrounds with different mental health concerns. She has received advanced training in and has experience using a number of empirically supported treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Dr. Stanley finds that her most important role in initial appointments is to listen to her clients’ concerns, understand what motivated them to seek therapy, and what their goals for treatment are. Then she and the client can work collaboratively to form a treatment plan that fits the client’s preferences and will help the client to meet their goals.
