Yes I’m a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Illinois (CADC) and I’m clinically certified in Trauma

Educational Background: I earned my Master’s degree in School Counseling from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL. During my graduate internships, I worked and gained valuable experience primarily with teens and their parents from ages 14 until their early twenties who were At-Risk youth, many of them in the justice system. Many of the mental health issues I dealt with during my internship included, but were not limited to, anxiety, depression, bullying, gang involvement, substance abuse, domestic violence, bipolar and grief

My Therapeutic Approach: I work with teens, adults, couples, and families to reach their goals and to learn new ways to cope with and react to everyday stresses. Based on my clients, I use a host of treatment therapies to meet their specific needs which include, but are not limited to, CBT, DBT, Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Trauma-Focused, Person-Centered Psychotherapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. I also work with each client to examine what their current lifestyle and diet look like in order to make necessary adjustments in order for the client to receive the best results possible. I treat each client with respect and dignity and am fully aware that I am a partner in their process of achieving their goals and fulfilling life.

More About Me: When I’m not counseling, I enjoy working out, cooking, reading books, and watching movies. My husband and I are also involved in cat rescue and rehabilitation. I have five nieces and nephews who are the light of my world and I enjoy spending time with them as well. I have recently begun doing volunteer work at a variety of locations too.
