If you're ready to decompartmentalize the chaos that you most certainly have stored in the deepest recesses of your mind, schedule an appointment with me. Perhaps you've recently realized that your "self-awareness" is not at all as helpful as you thought and it's time to take the next step past awareness towards action. Do you tell yourself you're "bad at expressing feelings?" Let's explore and identify unfamiliar and uncomfortable emotions. If you are ready to build an emotional tolerance for instances of overwhelm, let's get you scheduled so we can discuss your goals for wellness and explore ways to find relief and healing.

I incorporate continuous mindfulness activities and skills into the work. Mindfulness practice allows us to exist in the present by letting thoughts of the past stay in the past. This practice allows the fears of the future to pass through your mind, unchanged and without judgement.  I am currently in the process of becoming a Certified Mindfulness Informed Professional. (CMIP) I also include a lot of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to challenge and reframe negative cognitions and emotions.

I mainly practice an accelerated therapy process called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. (EMDR) This therapy was originally developed by Francine Shapiro to treat PTSD in veterans and has since evolved to treat symptoms of anxiety, depression, and a wide range of other disorders and conditions. We will use eye movement to directly engage the memories and negative core beliefs that cause unwanted physical and emotional symptoms. Our brains want to heal and this intervention offers an accelerated path to wellness. I have been practicing EMDR for more than a year and I am currently in the process of becoming a certified practitioner through The EMDR International Association. Together we can curate a beneficial and therapeutic treatment plan that best suits your needs.
