M.A. in Couple and Family Therapy
Hi, I’m John! Welcome! I am so glad you are here. I am a licensed couple and family therapist and have worked in the mental health field for over seven wonderful years. I graduated from Stevenson University with B.A in Sociology and Religious studies. I earned my M.A. in Couple and Family Therapy from Adler University in Chicago. I believe deeply in the transformative power of the therapy and hope you are open to developing deeper, more satisfying relationships with those around you.
I am a person-centered, strengths-based therapist and have extensive expertise in working with communication issues, anxiety, life transitions, marital conflict, pre-marital preparation, chemical dependency, spirituality, and grief and loss. Furthermore, I have a strong passion for incorporating social justice issues in therapy using multiple modalities in which I have trained such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, and Family Systems.
I believe in an individuals' ability to grow and connect in radically different ways with those most important to them. I am also keenly aware of the power of one's environment on experiences and relationships which affect both immediate family and larger systems such as school, work, or home. I strive to build a compassionate and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment, honoring experiences, and supporting client change.
It takes courage to admit that want something to be different in your life. Walk with me as we collaborate to identify goals that are tailored to your needs. Begin this journey with me to becoming the best version of yourself.
