Kim Anne-Hashoian Smith

My passion is to help people work through issues and concerns so they can experience a healthy life filled with balance, hope, harmony, and peace.

I have a Master's degree (MA) in Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in Math Education. I have over seventeen years combined experience as both a teacher and school counselor in secondary schools. I am a fully licensed professional counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). As an experienced counselor and educator, I am uniquely qualified to address all academic, parental, personal, emotional, social, and career development needs.

My practice is dedicated to helping clients identify and enhance their unique potential while encouraging and guiding them to develop healthy coping mechanisms to deal with communications, relationships, anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, and improve self-esteem. I work with clients to explore problem-solving techniques, develop decision-making skills and collaborate to create cognitive and behavioral plans to manage thoughts, feeling,s and behaviors.

I am an effective motivator, communicator, and advocate. I establish rapport quickly, build trust, and interact with clients on all levels. My talent is connecting with clients, using humor, and using a blend of both encouragement and accountability.

I work with clients age 10 to adults to develop resilience, motivation, and self-respect on their journey to becoming healthy, successful, confident, peace-filled people.

I have created and implemented a variety of enrichment programs. Topics include Parent Workshops, Anti-Bulling/Tolerance, Conflict Mediation, Structured Study Skills, Leadership Camps, and Personality Profile workshops.
