My name is Kimberly Taylor. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC). I graduated in 2008 with a Master of Arts Degree in Mental Health, School Counseling and Substance Use Counseling from Wayne State University. Over the last 10 years I have practiced in a variety of settings, such as: community mental health; substance use facilities; schools; refugee shelters; integrative health clinics and private practice. What makes me unique as a counselor is the perspective I have gained as a “wounded healer.” I strive to give my clients the type of experience that I would want, such as being truly heard and not feeling judged. While I primarily counsel from a Person-Centered perspective, I practice from an Integrative or Holistic perspective. I am adept at integrating Mind, Body, Spirit techniques with traditional therapeutic approaches. I also employ Mindfulness, CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused Therapy. Furthermore, I pride myself in offering culturally and gender-sensitive services. I specialize in working with Codependency, Women’s Issues, Victims of Domestic Violence, and am Spanish-Speaking. Lastly, my background as a K-12 school counselor allows me to relate to the needs of Pre-Teens or Adolescents.
