Sally is passionate about working with each individual to develop a plan to help them overcome the obstacles they face. As each person is unique, she utilizes an eclectic approach in her techniques to best match each person’s individual needs. She enjoys working with children, families, couples, adolescents, and adults.
Sally’s previous experiences have allowed her to develop a wide variety of clinical skills. She has extensive knowledge in helping people work through an assortment of disorders, ranging in severity. She has provided individual, family, couples, and group therapy. She has extensive practice in helping individuals and families understand specific strengths and weaknesses through her experience completing neuropsychological/psychological assessments for most ages (2-100). Sally is a person who understands the fears associated with facing one’s struggles, and offers a warm and safe place to do so. She provides compassion, support, and time, for each person to work through their problems. Sally has been working for the last year with children who have experienced significant trauma, and strongly believes developing a trusting environment is of key importance for each individual.
Sally Barbat, MA, LLP earned her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialty in Child and Adolescent Psychology from The University of Detroit Mercy. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Human Biology at Michigan State University.
