I believe our emotional well-being and mental health is just as important as breathing! Thank you for considering working with me. I am Christie Facione and I am a licensed Master’s Social Worker from Wayne State University. I have worked as a Social Worker and I have over a decade of experience helping adults and older adults cope with and adapt to loss and life changes.  I have experience with grief therapy, anxiety, depression, life transitions, coping skills, Alzheimer’s/Dementia certification and parenting challenges. 

 My approach is client-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I use an eclectic approach, CBT, Mindfulness, Transactional Analysis, and most importantly, Empathic Listening. I use a collaborative mentoring style in my counseling to help clients learn why they behave the way they do so that they can be empowered to make changes. This includes skills development around emotional regulation and distress tolerance.
