“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive… with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”
— Maya Angelou
I provide psychotherapy with the goal of helping people move out of emotional pain and into lives that feel meaningful and manageable. I know seeking help takes courage, and I work to make the process as comfortable as possible—using compassion, clarity, and a bit of humor when it helps ease the load.
I’m a licensed psychologist with a PhD in Counseling Psychology and more than 12 years of postdoctoral experience. With a background in hospital social work and over 30 years in mental health, I’ve worked with individuals facing trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, personality disorders, acute crises, and long-term struggles. For the past two years, I’ve provided virtual psychotherapy via telehealth.
In our first sessions, I focus on understanding what brought you here—your concerns, your history, and what feels most pressing. Once we’ve mapped the problem, we work together to build a path toward relief and change.
My primary approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a well-researched, highly effective method that helps you examine unhelpful patterns and develop healthier ways of thinking and coping. CBT involves active participation, including brief reading and writing exercises that we review together.
Therapy is a collaborative process. I encourage honest feedback so we can shape the work in a way that feels right for you. My aim is to support, challenge, and guide you as you move toward greater resilience and well-being.
I am currently available for appointments and welcome the opportunity to work with you.
