Licensed Professional Counselor
I have been a licensed professional counselor in the State of Michigan since 1994. I have worked in ER, in-home family systems, family court, administrative, supervisory, in-patient addictions, inpatient mental health, day treatment, intensive outpatient and traditional outpatient settings since that time. I have conducted lab research at Wayne State University on buprenorphine as an undergraduate and have gone on to provide counseling services for clients who are on Suboxone and other opioid replacement therapies.
I have been married for 30 years (August 8th) and my wife and I have two sons (ages 19 and 27). We are dog people (living with our sweet Shea – a black lab mix, and sometimes our grand-puppie Sarge – a pit / dingo / mountain lion / jack-rabbit mix) and Eevee - a poodle / huskie mix.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling and I have post-master’s work in Marriage and Family Therapy from Oakland University in Rochester, MI.
I am sober and I am familiar with 12 step and other recovery programs and I am comfortable working with people having a variety of psychological and emotional difficulties. I have extensive experience addressing Depression, Anxiety, Family, Psychiatric, Relationship, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Codependency, Addiction, Dual Diagnosis, Grief and Trauma recovery.
