Whether your difficulties or issues are smaller or larger, came about more recently or have been with you for a long time, it is important to me to listen carefully to you and give you a respectful and non-judgmental space in which we can develop a good therapeutic relationship, be curious together, and collaborate on finding ways to help you to move forward.

I have 41 years of experience and love what I do. Continuing to learn is important to me and in addition to attending many conferences over the decades, I have successfully completed training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) (2013), a well-researched and highly effective practice designed for children ages two to seven and their parents/caregivers, and in Oct. 2023 completed the Level One training in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) Model, a highly effective evidence-based therapy, and became an IFS therapist. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in out-patient clinics/agencies throughout most of my career primarily as a generalist, have been in this group private practice since Dec. 2019. I specialize in treating depression, mood swings, anxiety, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, relationship conflicts, and to some extent substance addictions. The main therapies I use are insight-oriented psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and some aspects of psychoanalytic psychotherapy that I find valuable. I also use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (modified to what can be provided by an individual therapist), modified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Compassion Focused Therapy.

I have a master's degree in clinical social work (M.S.W.) from Wayne State University in Detroit (1982) and am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the State of Michigan. I am a member of the American Psychological Association and subscribe to www.additudemag.com, a website and magazine service centered around helping children, adolescents, and adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
