Through secure telehealth sessions, I make it possible to see a specialized therapist from wherever you are in Michigan, whether that's the tip of the Keweenaw or downtown Detroit. No commute, no waiting room, just a confidential space where you can show up as you are.

How I Work

I draw from several evidence-based approaches and match them to you rather than the other way around:

- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for understanding and changing the thought patterns that drive depression and anxiety.

- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples who want to rebuild connection and trust.

- Family Systems and General Systems Theory for understanding how the relationships around us shape our struggles.

- Collaborative Language Systems and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, which treat you as the expert on your own life and focus on building solutions rather than dwelling on problems.

- Psychoeducation, because understanding what you're experiencing is often the first step to changing it.

In practice, this means our conversations will be practical and goal-oriented, but also warm and collaborative. You won't be lectured or told what to think. We'll figure it out together.

Background

I've spent my career helping people navigate some of their most difficult circumstances. Before entering private practice, I worked extensively with children, adolescents, and families in clinical settings, including intensive therapeutic services, foster care, and deferred adjudication programs. That work taught me a great deal about resilience.

Over the years, my path has taken me across the South, Southwest, Northwest, and Central United States before finding a home in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in 2004. I'm particularly interested in issues involving gender, culture, and equality, and I bring that lens to my work with every client.
