Jeanette Peltola, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Achieving a sense of inner balance in our sometimes turbulent world can be challenging. I too spent a period in my life, out of balance, responding to professional work demands and single-parent responsibilities. I understand how important it is to seek out and find someone to talk to who can help guide us through difficult times. As a counselor for more than twenty five years, I take a holistic and person-centered approach. We all have strengths and gifts. Media influences so often tell us we are less than on the right path. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and other modalities that are strength-based and positive, including mindfulness and breathing techniques. We live in a busy, stressful world, and learning to center oneself is an important piece of self-care. My experience includes working with individuals, parents, families, youth, and Military Service Members and their families and caregivers abroad. I have extensive school experience, and career and life skills training, and I’m passionate about helping youth develop a strong sense of self-understanding. I’m a compassionate, caring, warm individual who seeks first to understand your individual needs. Together we can help you move forward, focusing on a healthy and realistic path to self-care and self discovery.
