Licensed Master Social Worker
I am a licensed master clinical social worker, with a clinical social worker certification in the state of Michigan. The bulk of my 37 years of clinical experience consists of helping children/adolescents/adults and geriatric clients manage initial, chronic and pervasive mental health symptoms. I have worked in a variety of mental health environments dealing with concerns of stress, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance abuse, parenting issues, anger problems, trauma, impulsive behavior, relationship and attachment issues, identity and self-esteem issues and life transitions.
In private practice, it is my passion to help children/adolescents/adults and geriatric clients to build a life that feels nourishing, meaningful and authentic. My therapeutic approach is nonjudgmental, collaborative and person-centered as working together to figure out what a life worth living means for you. I understand that everyone experiences life differently, each with their own unique set of challenges and circumstances. For this reason, I take great care in getting to know you and the context of your world so that we can identify your strengths and use them to improve the unhelpful and problematic patterns of behavior in your life that have brought you to consider therapy.
I recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Therefore, I often utilize a mix of evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution focused brief therapy (SFBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) among others. My overall goal as a therapist is to provide you with a safe space to express freely, to work through the past and to prioritize actions that brings you closer to achieving your wellness goals. You do not have to do this alone. Together, we can find what works for you.
