Hi there! My name is John. In my therapeutic work, I focus on self-acceptance and compassion, as these things are paramount to growth. I assist clients as they move beyond surface-level coping and begin deeper healing by addressing the core wounds, not just the unhealthy patterns and behaviors that may stem from them. My approach to therapy revolves around supporting you as you build a healthier image of yourself as well as helping you to establish and maintain more positive relationships in your life. I believe in a strength-based approach, and I want to help you to identify your best qualities and use them to their full advantage so you can live a more rich and fulfilling life.

One of my therapeutic specialties is working with clients who are facing or are working up the motivation to make a major life transition. I've helped clients transition through employment shifts, divorces and separations, relocating, becoming parents, and many other changes that happen over the course of life. Sometimes, these changes are sudden and abrupt in nature and bring with them anxiety, grief, or a sense of feeling stuck. Other times, these changes have been a long time coming, with clients needing a little extra 'push' to find the motivation to make the changes they want to see. In the midst of these transitions, there is a real opportunity for growth. In therapy, I help clients build motivation and more fully lean into these transitions, both unexpected and planned, and help develop coping tools for clients to be able to manage and meet the demands these changes bring. Along the way, I work with clients to help them maintain and prioritize their values so they can move forward with confidence and intention.
