Licensed Master Social Worker
My early years were marked by significant bullying, which challenged my confidence but ultimately fueled my passion for resilience and healing. Those experiences inspired me to pursue a career in social work, earning my Master's degree from Wayne State University.
I began my career working with the State of Michigan in Children's Protective Services (CPS) and foster care, where I gained valuable insight into the judicial and criminal court systems and the unique challenges individuals face. After five years, I transitioned to working as a school social worker in junior high schools, where I found my passion for supporting adolescents in developing emotional regulation, confidence, and coping skills.
I specialize in teaching solution-focused, strength based, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques. Additionally, I specialize in helping clients manage trauma, stress, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, and depression. I also have a strong interest in working with individuals navigating borderline personality disorder, high functioning autism, LGBTQ+ issues, and women's issues. My goal is to empower others to overcome hardships and build resilience they need to thrive.
When I am not counseling I enjoy running; hiking; and hanging out with my husband, dog, and 2 cats.
