Kimberly Helton, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
It is my belief that the counseling experience requires an authentic human connection that embraces the uniqueness of all individuals. It means establishing the therapeutic alliance and nurturing it by practicing in a manner that evinces respect, dignity, acceptance, and empathy. Therapy is meant to serve as a space for exploration where together, we can identify problems and develop solutions. As a counselor, I will respect that you are the expert on your life, and my role is not to fix your problems or give advice but rather to work with you to explore your needs, wants, and desires from both a personal and professional perspective.
It is my hope that you find therapy to be a safe, confidential, and empathetic space that allows us to explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Through self-exploration inclusive of personal values, beliefs and finding what gives you meaning, we can identify what you would like to get and give back to life. By reflecting on past and current experiences, we can strengthen skills and find alternative ways to better manage life stressors. My goal is to provide unconditional support as you gain a greater understanding about yourself and find resolution to areas of concern. Every individual is unique; therefore, treatment will be individualized for the best therapeutic outcome.
