Laura Nagy, MA, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Hello and thank you for taking a look at my profile. My name is Laura Nagy, MA, LPC. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed in the State of Michigan (license # 6401006042). I have been working in the mental health field since I received my Master degree in 1995. I have experience working in private practice, with a CMH agency, and with a hospital, both on a psychiatric care inpatient unit and on the crisis services team. I have background in working with children, families, and adults. I work with people struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship or marital issues, adjustment to life changes, and those that struggle with suicidal thoughts, to name a few.
My therapy style is client-centered and solution-focused. I believe that you, the client, should set the goals for therapy and I am here to support, empower, and encourage you to meet those goals. I am likely to assign homework and will encourage messaging as life happens in between sessions. I utilize a strength-based style, focusing on the courage and strength that is took you to get to this point in your life. I will assist you in discovering your natural support system so that you can gain tools to continue building your own well-being.
The strength it took you to reach out for help should be commended. I would love to help you explore what life can offer with peace and a sense of well-being. Let me assist you in putting together a solid set of tools to manage anything life may throw at you. I look forward to working with you. Warmly, Laura
