Melissa Ribbey, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
I am a laid-back, empathetic, and nonjudgmental therapist, with real life experience, who is committed to creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I believe in meeting people where they are and providing encouragement, guidance, and practical tools to help them move toward where they want to be.
My work is grounded in the belief that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of the healing process. I view my clients as the experts in their own lives and strive to walk alongside them as they gain insight, build skills, and create meaningful change.
I have over 20 years of experience working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. My clinical experience includes supporting clients with anxiety, depression, personality disorders, self-harm and suicidal ideation, substance and alcohol use, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, developmental disabilities, and co-occurring (dual) disorders. I am also a strong ally to LGBTQ+ individuals and am committed to providing inclusive, affirming care.
I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from Spring Arbor University and have training in trauma-informed care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), strengths-based approaches, supportive therapy, and substance use and mental health treatment.
Whether you are navigating a difficult season or working toward personal growth, I aim to provide a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered every step of the way.
