Rachel Gurka, LMSW
Licensed Master Social Worker
Brene Brown PhD, LMSW wrote, “You are imperfect, you are wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging.” Throughout the seasons of our lives, we are presented with life’s obstacles and challenges. Therapy is what guides us through life’s difficulties while acknowledging that we are not alone. Rachel will meet you where you are at and be a helping hand through your circumstances. She believes developing trust and a strong therapeutic relationship are crucial to guide clients to become their full potential.
Rachel started her passion to help others by graduating from Central Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in Social Work, then completed her Master of Social Work degree at Western Michigan University. Rachel has a versatile background of experiences, beginning with assisting along the side of at-risk and homeless youth, to working as Applied Behavioral Analysis therapist with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Also, she has worked as a licensed school social worker in the state of Michigan for adolescents, young children, and families for two years prior to private practice.
