Licensed Professional Counselor
Hello, and welcome -- I'm glad you're here...
I am a licensed therapist in Ohio and Michigan with over 30 years of experience walking alongside individuals as they navigate life’s challenges. My work has included supporting people through depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, career transitions, substance use, and the lasting impact of trauma and emotional abuse.
My approach is warm, interactive, and rooted in authenticity. I believe in the quiet power of holding space—creating an environment where you feel safe enough to be seen, heard, and understood without judgment. I meet each person with compassion, respect, and sensitivity, while also offering gentle, honest reflection when it can support growth. I tend to move away from stigmatizing labels, as I believe they can narrow the fullness of who you are.
My work is eclectic and intuitive, drawing from cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, and rational-emotive therapies. At the heart of it all is a simple belief: that you already carry within you the wisdom you need. My role is to help you reconnect with that inner knowing—supporting you as you uncover clarity, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change.
Growth asks for courage. Change asks for intention. As the saying goes, nothing changes if nothing changes. If you feel ready, I would be honored to walk beside you as you move toward a more fulfilling and grounded life.
Please note: If my schedule appears full or no appointments are available, you are welcome to contact GLPG or reach me directly at sbrnstn@ymail.com.
