Shelby Evans, LMSW
Licensed Master Social Worker
Hi! My name is Shelby. I’m glad you’re here!
I have experience supporting individuals through a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, addiction and severe mental illness. My work is rooted in empathy, humor, and a strong belief in each person’s ability to grow and thrive.
I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Wayne State University, and I bring a blend of evidence-based practices to my sessions—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Culturally Sensitive Therapy, and Person-Centered approaches.
I bring a down-to-earth, engaging energy to therapy, making the process feel less intimidating and more like a conversation that matters. My sessions are anything but one-size-fits-all. You can expect a safe, supportive space where you’re encouraged to explore, express, and maybe even laugh along the way. I blend evidence-based tools with a creative touch, often using humor, relatable examples, and flexible strategies to meet you where you are. With me, therapy is a safe space to cry, laugh, reflect, and grow—whatever your journey needs that day.
Whether you’re working through something big or just trying to figure life out, I’m here to walk alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and the occasional well-timed joke.
Ready to feel seen, supported, and maybe even smile a little along the way? Schedule your first session with me today! Sessions are available both in person, and virtually.
