Ruchi RayIt is crucial for us to have the courage and motivation to break our own unhealthy cycles and gain insight into our potentials. You deserve a respectful, individualized approach to therapy, and I am committed to helping you create and maintain healthy changes in your life. I am an empathic and supportive therapist who will also be direct and challenge you to move forward to reach your goals. With five years of clinical experience, I work with you so you can become your best advocate, strengthen your will to run against self-sabotaging thoughts and behaviors, and find/maintain relationships that will nurture your inner self. Having worked with diverse, ethnic and cultural populations, I value diversity and cultural sensitivity as a strong component of my work with each individual as it provides an open, safe environment for us to work together. Utilizing approaches that are evidence-based and tailored specifically to you, I invite you to come to feel heard and understood without judgment so you can find the balance you are looking for and the light in the darkness you experience.Throughout my career as a clinician, I have worked with a variety of adults and some adolescents experiencing different obstacles in their paths such as life transitions, work-related issues, mood disorders, infidelity in intimate partner relationships, and social/family relationships. Additionally, I have extended experience with individuals who struggle with post-traumatic stress, anxiety, emotional regulation, domestic violence or gender-based violence, human trafficking, personality disorders, and some forensic cases. My work in community mental health, as well as outpatient hospital settings, has allowed me to integrate various clinical approaches such as using dialectical behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, narrative therapy, psycho-education, and some expressive therapies. I believe our thinking patterns, emotions, and how we decide to behave or deal with hard situations as humans, impacts our overall well-being. I am here to support you, and I am dedicated to helping you identify and explore barriers, discuss problem-solving, and develop and practice skills you can use outside of session to achieve your goals and live the life you want to live.B.S. in Psychology – Natural Science at Loyola University ChicagoM.A. in Counseling Psychology at The Adler School of Professional Psychology (now known as Adler University)
