Hello, I am Deandria and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).  It is my belief that everyone has a story that deserves to be heard.  Our stories make us who and how we are.   Utilizing a holistic approach, my goal is to assist individuals with identifying one’s inner power and self-determination to process that story and to work towards attainment of a purposeful and fulfilling life worth living.  In my practice, I utilize an eclectic approach that is person-centered, strength-based, solution-focused and trauma-informed, emphasizing cognitive behavioral therapies, dialectic behavior therapy skills, and motivational interviewing to work with individuals to explore how one’s worldview aligns or misaligns with the ideal self, to modify undesired behavior(s), develop new behaviors, identify and reframe irrational thought patterns and to regulate emotions.

I have almost ten years of clinical experience.  I worked with adults during my internships in Detroit and Southgate, MI.  I have over 6 years of experience in working with children, teens, young adults, and families.  I received my B.S. in Psychology from Eastern Michigan University in 2002 and M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Siena Heights University in 2014.  I have received extensive training in evidenced-based practices such as DBT, MI, and MRT.
