Emily has a Masters of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She considers counseling to be her calling and service to hurting individuals and couples in need of hope and a new direction. She takes great care in assisting her individual clients and couples with processing their concerns and finding healthy tools to repair broken relationships and live a more meaningful life.
Emily is passionate about her work and specializes in couples counseling, working with relationships in need of healthy communication and conflict management skills, rebuilding emotional trust, and recovery from relationship trauma and infidelity. Emily offers faith-based counseling for clients in need. She is person-centered and works from an individual or family systems approach to healing using cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT), including boundaries and mindfulness therapy. She specializes in building healthy relationships using her training with world-renowned researchers and experts, Dr. John and Julie Gottman with The Gottman Institute in Seattle, WA and their relationship skill-building techniques. Emily is experienced in working with women’s issues, including postpartum depression, post-natal anxieties for new or adjusting mothers and families, including generalized anxiety and depression.
