Trust and connection are important aspects of the client-therapist relationship to be cultivated from the get-go. These are qualities I hold in high regard, as I am honored to witness and be of support, while you navigate your path. I value authenticity and vulnerability, in myself and others, and strive to provide this experience from the beginning of our time together. I believe in intuition and the importance of having a sense of humor.
My approach to therapy is rooted in trust, relatability, and connection. I believe that the client-therapist relationship is one of the most important factors in the meaningful journey towards your personal goals. I value authenticity and vulnerability, in myself and others, and strive to provide that experience from the moment you step into my office. I believe in intuition and the importance of having a sense of humor.
My experience and scope of practice are broad, while I worked in community mental health for several years with high-risk populations in both, Denver and Chicago. I have in-depth training and experience with treating substance use disorders and addictive behaviors, as well as trauma, anxiety, and mood and psychotic disorders. I am skilled in working with individuals across the lifespan and am particularly passionate about adolescents and young adults. My education and early experiences were based in school-social work, therefore I am well versed in navigation and collaboration within education systems, and providing parental support. I bring an additional sense of understanding to the room, from having my own life experiences that brought me to seek therapy as a teenager.
I can help support and guide clients in navigating through life transitions, obstacles that have arisen, and any other encountered stressors, as well as provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to process core belief systems, values, and experiences that have brought you to where you are today. I pride myself in my multi-cultural lens of treatment, understanding of cultural impact (present and historical) on well-being, and have experience with immigrant populations. I am fluent in Spanish and I am happy to use this skill in therapy sessions, as needed.
