I have been where you are, filtering through bio after bio, wondering if a certain letter combination behind a name meant that that person was more qualified to make me feel better. I know the anxiety that comes at the thought of making yourself vulnerable to a complete stranger and I commend the courage you exhibit in taking this first step.
I'm Jesse, a fully licensed Master Social Worker with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, both from Wayne State University. For the past 5 years I have worked in a community mental health setting with adults living with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorders. My life experiences and road to personal self discovery afford me first hand perspective into a number of issues including depression, anxiety, gender dysphoria, sexual orientation, substance use/dependence, blended families, legal problems, grief/loss, and family discord, among others.
I believe that the best way to get to where you want to be is to face where you've been. If you're ready to do that, I offer you a safe, supportive space and promise to walk with you as a partner, at your pace and in the direction you choose.
