For twelve years I have enjoyed providing effective counseling for couples and individuals at New Passages Psychological Services in Macomb County, Graham Health Center at Oakland University and in my own private practice in Rochester, Michigan. I hold degrees in Psychology and Counseling from University of Michigan and Oakland University.
Helping people overcome a variety of problems related to marital distress, infidelity, poor relationships, family issues, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, emotional disconnection, anger, lack of motivation, divorce and coping with difficult life changes is my passion!
My approach combines cognitive-behavioral and solution focused therapy with individualized assessments to assure clients are achieving their goals for counseling and are happy with their counseling experience. With a warm and down-to-earth style, clients are engaged and motivated to identify feelings, behaviors and negative patterns that contribute to problems. During therapy, clients increase their ability to recognize and use personal strengths and resources instead of just focusing on what isn’t working. Clients find this approach to be essential to feeling good about their life and functioning at their best.
Much of my work is with couples, helping them discover hope for repairing their complex relationship problems. They learn how to build strong emotional connections in their relationship while improving communication. Through our work together, many avoid the trauma of divorce and find real happiness in their relationships.
I’m married with two children, love my Australian Shepard, and am currently trying to overcome the challenges of being a beginning violin student.
