My name is Margaret Schnieder and I've been a therapist for 10 years. I wanted to become a therapist after I was bullied in middle school because I wanted to be a voice for those that were bullied and did not see an end in sight. You aren't alone in your bullying trauma, or other traumas, or life's stresses.

I've worked with children, adolescents, and adults in Community Mental Health programs helping clients to feel more at peace with themselves and to rediscover what and/or who they thought was lost. I've worked with probation officers, teachers, parents, lawyers, and school social workers in these settings. I'm nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is an evidence-based treatment modality for children and adolescents aged 5-18 who have experienced trauma in their lives.

Our thoughts affect our feelings, which in turn, direct our behavior and actions. We are what we think and our thoughts can make us better or they can make us "sick". I'd like to help you make sense of that in how it plays out in your life and how it affects your everyday functioning. I believe, and I know this sounds cliché, that there are strengths to be found in each of us, and therapy is a way to find and use those inherent strengths to empower you to work through the reasons bringing you to therapy. In our sessions, I hold space that is safe, authentic, where you can feel vulnerable, yet supported. We will discuss and learn coping strategies that are targeted toward you and your needs so that you will feel comfortable in managing what brings you to therapy and I'm determining your therapeutic goals. My therapeutic modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-Based, Solution-Focused, and Motivational Interviewing.
