I possess over 20 years in this helping profession. I have worked with a myriad of persons, including persons with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, traumatic brain injury, and substance use disorders. Furthermore, I have worked in a multitude of settings, including inpatient psychiatric and medical settings as well as outpatient mental health and substance abuse clinics. I have helped individuals manage symptoms, such as depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and substance abuse disorders.
I received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from The University of Michigan in Social Work. I also possess a Master’s Degree in Health Service Administration from Central Michigan. I am a Licensed Master of Social Work (Clinical & Macro) in Michigan. I have taught undergraduate course work for entry-level social work students and have done extensive work with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) on both the state and national levels in the area of professional ethics.
I prefer to utilize client-centered approaches with the individuals that I serve. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Solution-Based Therapy (SBT) as well as Motivational Interviewing.
I look forward to assisting you in your journey to healing.
