Hello! My name is Sommer Ellul and I am a Traverse City native. I received my undergraduate Bachelor's of Science degree in Human Biology from Michigan State University. I attended Western Michigan University for my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have experience working with older adults in the nursing home setting, adults with chronic illness, clients with borderline personality disorder (BPD), bipolar disorder, and clients who experience depression, anxiety, and grief. I wholeheartedly embrace the counselor’s role of assisting clients in wellness, empowerment, and growth. As I continue to work with individuals in Michigan, I utilize counseling techniques, assessment tools, and unconditional positive regard to assist you in realizing your goals. I employ multiple therapeutic perspectives, including Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused and Person-Centered, but believe the therapeutic alliance to be one of the most important tools for guiding clients toward self-awareness and growth. I strive to create a safe space for healing that focuses on your personal goals.
