I value the connection and trust necessary for a therapeutic relationship to feel comfortable, successful and productive. I strive to help my clients feel safe to share honestly while offering validation and accountability for opportunities of growth, empowerment, and skill-building. We work together to identify the origins of problematic or maladaptive beliefs and patterns of behavior in order to confront and replace them. With compassion, patience, and empathy, I assist clients in gaining effective coping skills, setting healthy boundaries, implementing positive lifestyle choices, and improving decision-making strategies. We discuss psychoeducation while gaining self-esteem and confidence to reframe negative or anxious thinking, the forgiveness of self and/or others, and recognition of what is in our control.
Making the decision to begin therapy is often not an easy one, I work to ensure a cathartic experience of healing and progress. I am privileged to work with children, adolescents, and adults. Please refer to my list of specialties to evaluate if I may be the right fit for your needs.
I obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Psychology and Biology and a Master of Science Degree (MS) in Professional Counseling. I have experience in a variety of settings including the school setting, partial hospitalization program, and outpatient therapy. I am a fully Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and member of the American Counseling Association.
