About Me For as far back as I remember it has been my desire to serve people. Throughout my education and life experience, I have acquired strong skill sets that could be an asset to anyone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and put in the work to achieve their desired goals. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Licensed Practitioner of The Healing Arts, with a Master’s degree in Social Work, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from CSWE accredited University, Chicago State University. I embarked on this journey of education into the human psyche, starting in 2010, to gain a better understanding of behaviors, and mental functioning, and how I can best serve clients in achieving optimal clinical outcomes. In addition to my education, I participated in over 3,000 postgraduate Clinical Supervision hours, under the direct supervision of two Clinically Licensed Practitioners who collectively have over 34 years of Post-Graduate Clinical experience. You have taken a courageous first step; so let's see if we are a good fit, as I would be honored to embark on this journey in collaboration with you. I strive to build a genuine connection with my clients by fostering an environment of transparency and support. Remember, you are the expert in your journey, and I am here to assist. What can clients expect to take away from sessions? Some of the tools that you may enhance while on this journey are: Mindfulness, Patience, Emotional Intelligence, Critical Thinking, and Impulse Control to name a few. Our thoughts influence our feelings, which In turn influences our behaviors. Making that connection is imperative, as it allows you to respond, rather than react. Treatment methods and tools utilized: My Evidenced Based Practices and modalities of choice are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to enhance constructive coping skills. These modalities treat an array of presenting symptoms and issues such as: ADHD Anxiety Coping Skills Depression Grief Self Esteem Stress Dual Diagnosis Trauma Biggest strengths: I have provided therapy for clients varying in ages from 6-100, as I have been a Child and Adolescent therapist, and I have also worked with patients on hospice and their grieving families. I have years of experience administering bio-psychosocial assessments, in order to identify the presenting issues, needs or concerns of each client. This makes creating individualized treatment plans to address emotional and behavioral issues clients may present with, that much simpler to address, especially since therapy is not one size fits all. It is my goal to assist you in stress reduction and mitigate any presenting symptoms, so that you can live your best life yet. Again, I would be honored to embark on this journey in collaboration with you.
