As a therapist at our Livonia location, what challenges do you specialize in treating?
I specialize in treating internalizing disorders, such as depression and anxiety, as well as working with adolescents.
What do you find is most important about your role as a therapist?
As I therapist, I serve as a blank slate, allowing people the opportunity to challenge their own thinking in a supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere.
In your opinion, how do you help people?
I help people by offering support and guidance as well as with unconditional positive regard. I enjoy building rapport with my clients, allowing them to feel comfortable as they work through discomfort.
What is something that you wish people knew about your specialties, or about therapy in general?
I wish to help reduce the stigma of therapy, that it is a collaborative process, focusing on the client’s strengths and abilities, rather than something to fear.
Can you describe an influential person or experience in your life?
My supervisor during my first graduate school internship. She knew the perfect balance between supporting and challenging me.
